It’s what distinguishes families most – the many ways they support each other’s health, development, and well-being. In good times, and especially in bad times, family members provide the lion’s share of care and support. But caring is definitely easier and more sustainable when families are supported by friends and have access to an adequate income, flexible schedules, and access to a range of community resources.
