2014 is the 20th Anniversary of the International Year of the Family – a good time to take stock of what families need, what we are doing well, and what we can do better so that all of us benefit. Join us this year for the International Year of the Family Speaker Series, sponsored by the University of Guelph's College of Social and Applied Human Sciences.

Families with Special Needs Children

Featuring Dr. John Beaton, Associate Professor in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, Ceilidh Eaton Russell, MSc., & Lindsay Stehouwer, MSc.

This presentation will explore implications and interventions for families raising special needs children. Focusing on families with children who may have disabilites and/or chronic health conditions. Two specific research examples with special needs families will be shared, Fathers and Autistic Children, and Parents with Children with Brain Tumors.
