This talk will explore the science of ouchies - in particular, what happens when children and teenagers have important needle procedures such as immunizations and blood draws. Cutting edge research on the best way for caregivers to help children when they are afraid and in pain will be reviewed and some of the findings may surprise you! Family/clinician-friendly tips and resources will be provided.
